APOC’s European Visit Yields Fruitful Results, Opening a New Chapter in Olympic Cooperation

Recently, a delegation led by Xia Shujun, President of the Beijing Olympic Culture Promotion Association (APOC, hereinafter referred to as “APOC”), conducted a week-long study and exchange visit to Europe. The delegation focused on visiting the International Olympic Academy (IOA) in Greece and held talks with organizations including the International World Games Association (IWGA) and the Olympic Foundation for Culture and Heritage (OFCH) of the International Olympic Committee, achieving a series of substantive outcomes.

During the visit, APOC and the International Olympic Academy officially signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in Greece, marking a new stage of standardized and regular cooperation between the two sides in the fields of Olympic culture, education, arts, and sports.

Recently, the official website of the International Olympic Academy published an article that highly commended APOC’s outstanding efforts in promoting Olympic values worldwide.

The signing ceremony took place at the headquarters of the International Olympic Academy in Athens, Greece. Representatives attending the ceremony included Dr. Charilaos Tsolakis, President of the IOA, and members of the Academy’s management, as well as President Xia Shujun and key members of the APOC delegation.

Prior to the signing, APOC held an exchange meeting with the Hellenic Olympic Committee. Isidoros Kouvelos, President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, warmly welcomed the APOC delegation and expressed great anticipation for the cooperation, stating: “China and Greece have always maintained excellent relations. The International Olympic Academy (IOA) is an ideal platform for APOC to promote Olympic culture in China and around the world. We have full confidence in this cooperation.”

According to the Memorandum, the two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in areas including digital Olympic communication, international events and activities (including but not limited to the World Champions Congress and the Olympus Guanpai World Cup), educational program development and exchange, cultural heritage protection, and digital innovation.

President Xia Shujun stated that APOC will take this signing as a new starting point, actively implement all agreed initiatives, vigorously promote the dissemination of Olympic culture in China, and facilitate exchange and mutual learning between Chinese civilization and Olympic civilization.
